Stripe In Stainless Hood?

Would appreciate prior experience with receiving appliances with discolored stainless. This is fabricated from one sheet, but there is a distinct stripe across the top of the hood. My appliance dealer said no worries, it’s just lighting and needs a cleaning. I’m worried that is not the case. Anyone else receive an appliance with a distinct color change in their stainless steel?
