How does a 4-stroke engine work?
The four-stroke operation is suction, compression, explosion and discharge, each stroke using one piston motion. This means that one operating cycle requires two revolutions of the crankshaft.

The working principle is as follows.

suck (Intake)
The piston moves down from the top of the cylinder. sucking the air-fuel mixture into the cylinder The intake valve closes at the end of the suction stroke.

Compression
when the intake valve is closed The piston moves from the bottom to the top of the cylinder. The air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the cylinder head is compressed.

Explosive (Power)
Spark plugs ignite and burn compressed fuel. Burning fuel expands and push the piston down

Spit (Exhaust)
At the end of the explosion The exhaust valve will open. The piston then moves upwards and sweeps away the exhaust through the valve and out of the cylinder. before entering the suction stroke again like this, keep going

Maintaining your 4-stroke engine
to keep the engine running smoothly. You need high quality 4-stroke motorcycle engine oil. Good engine oil doesn't just clean the engine. reduce friction and cooling must also be economically efficient. Find out how Shell Advance engine oils can help your engine perform at its best.
